All taken near Bend this weekend... more to follow. How anoying is it to hike up to the tippity top of a Mt only to find it slathered in touristy types that drove up?!!!!
imho, smith rocks is one of the most amazing places in the state it used to be a fairly well kept secret though in the last few years...well, you obviously saw all the touristas in person *sigh* but its still reeeeeallly beautiful!
Smith rock was full of cars, but surprisingly, once you left the parking lot you only ran into the occasional climber or hiker passing by. I can't wait till the colder months arrive and more people snuggle up at home so I can venture out there again and explore in a tad more quiet and soak up the scenery.
In regards to the trail I was referring to Paulina Peak. 4 mile trek up much elevation and there at the top is a fancy schmancy porto potty and parking lot.. what next ... a gift shop?!!! In that sense it reminded me of Cadillac Mt in Bar Harbor ME.
