imho, smith rocks is one of the most amazing places in the state
it used to be a fairly well kept secret though in the last few years...well, you obviously saw all the touristas in person

but its still reeeeeallly beautiful!
Smith rock was full of cars, but surprisingly, once you left the parking lot you only ran into the occasional climber or hiker passing by. I can't wait till the colder months arrive and more people snuggle up at home so I can venture out there again and explore in a tad more quiet and soak up the scenery.
In regards to the trail I was referring to Paulina Peak. 4 mile trek up much elevation and there at the top is a fancy schmancy porto potty and parking lot.. what next ... a gift shop?!!! In that sense it reminded me of Cadillac Mt in Bar Harbor ME.
