Stormy Weather....

Good news on the pup update.... Someone found her( onhly 100 blocks away THANK YOU CRAIGSLIST)!!!!!!! She is back in a VERY secured crate, and I am trying to find her a shelter or a Foster home or a Forever home that will take her and not put her to sleep.

As it turns out she has had quite the sob story of a life- I managed to contact her old vet via her microchip. Marty ( as I have dubbed her) is only 2. She belonged to some guy who died shortly after getting her. His elderly mother took her on and had her for about a year when she had a stroke and ended up in the hospital. No one knew of the dog and she escaped the yard and as far as we know has been living on the streets ever since. She is Origionally from Canby so she traveled about 30 miles in 4 months.. which seems like a lot, but considering how speedily she got away yesterday seems like nothing.

Her last owner is now in a care home and not able to look after Marty. So I called shelters.... The humane society won't take her as they consider her a stray.. Animal Controle would take her, but she might get put down (some people might be freaked out by her eyes and typical Aussie neurosis so its a very high likelyhood of forever sleep). I just can't let that happen. I am also not willing to give her to the first person who comes along and does not know anything about the needs of Aussies.

So here I am Doggie foster mom. I am going to Cali for 3 days on Sunday and am at a loss for what to do. If anyone knows of a great patient person looking for a dog that will smother you with kisses or someone willing to take this lady in for a few days till I get back please email me!!!!!!!
